Antonio Fortino Salazar was an exceptional man.

Mr. Salazar, “Toño” joined the City of Brownsville Parks and Recreation Department in 2016.

He was a great employee and dear friend. We were proud and very fortunate to have him as part of our Parks and Recreation Projects Crew.

Antonio was tremendously talented. He welded, he did carpentry, he painted, and did plumbing too. He was a jack of all trades!

Antiono was always ready to learn a new skill and take on all challenges and tasks. He kept a positive attitude, and was generous with his time. Always kind, always helpful.

His dedication to his family and work inspired many. Thanks to his hard work, many of our parks projects will be around for generations to come.

Antonio is survived by his wife Antonia (Maria Antonieta). His legacy is carried on in his sons Carlos, Ricardo and Rolando.

Forever in our hearts and our memory.
Antonio Fortino Salazar 1952-2020

Words cannot express the pain and sorrow in our hearts for this loss.

Many of you have asked how you can help, please feel free to donate to the family in the memory of Toño and his father, who also passed away on August 1, 2020.
