Please join us in premiering Stuffed, a documentary featuring the art of taxidermy as a vehicle to connect communities back to nature, while educating and inspiring them to protect it. Stuffed world premiered at SxSW this year to sold out crowds, it’s been featured and reviewed by over 30 publications, and is entering the international festival circuit this summer in cities around the world.
This local premiere is the director, Erin Derham’s chance to share her passion for nature and give back to the critters of her beloved mountains.
All proceeds will go to The Friends of the WNC Nature Center, a 501c3 nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting animal care, education, and conservation programs of the WNC Nature Center, connecting people with the plants and animals of the Southern Appalachian Mountains. The WNC Nature Center will be there with more information on the wildlife park.

“Director Erin Derham wanted to tell a story about conservation in a nonpreachy way, and she does so by tapping into the dorkiness and dutiful presentation of natural beauty that’s at the heart of taxidermy. The film challenges the stereotypes of what it is (not just dead deer heads on a wall), paints a giddy, gorgeous portrait of the people who do it, and shows how preserving animals can help preserve species and the spaces that sustain them.”
